LONDON (Bloomberg) ? BW Offshore, which owns floating oil platforms, said third-quarter earnings more than tripled on increasing demand for its units.

Net income jumped to $11.1 million from $3.5 million in the third quarter of 2005, said BW Offshore, a Bermuda-based division of closely held shipowning company BW Group. Sales surged to $102.9 million from $17.5 million, according to a company statement. Earnings before income tax, depreciation and amortiSation more than doubled to $19 million from $8 million, BW Offshore said. The company owns five FPSOs and is planning to build another three by converting vessels.
