Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd. has appointed lawyer William Fawcett as senior vice president, head of claims.

Mr. Fawcett will be responsible for managing Endurance Specialty's global book of claims and claim personnel. Mr. Fawcett brings more than 15 years of technical insurance and reinsurance claim handling experience to the position.

Prior to joining Endurance, Mr. Fawcett was deputy general counsel and managing director of Swiss Reinsurance Corporation in Zurich. Mr. Fawcett also served with the United State Marine Corps, holding numerous positions, including Assistant Command Judge Advocate during Desert Storm.

Mr. Fawcett is an attorney admitted to practice in several US jurisdictions and was also called to the Bar as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
