Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., has filed an unallocated universal shelf registration statement for up to $500 million with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration would authorise Endurance to issue debt, equity and trust preferred securities. The company?s registration statement also noted that Endurance could sell more than 38 million ordinary shares beneficially owned by certain of the company?s founding shareholders.
