Fourways to reopen for daily business
Landmark Bermuda restaurant Fourways will re-open for daily business after all.
MEF Limited announced yesterday that the phone had not stopped ringing following the announcement last week that the restaurant had been sold and was shifting to group business only.
The restaurant was sold by shareholders lead by majority stakeholder Sir John Swan last week to MEF Limited which own and operate the Little Venice, La Coquille, La Trattoria, Harbourfront, L'Orientale, Cafe Lido (now Lido) and Mickey's.
After what has been described as "overwhelming" demand MEF managing director Emilio Barbieri said the restaurant will continue to operate as a restaurant for the "time being".
Reservations can be made from tomorrow, March 6.
Mr. Barbieri said the company would continue with its original plan of shifting Fourways to a centre for its catering division and as a group function venue. He added the restaurant will continue to operate "at least, for the next few months" after which the situation will be re-evaluated.
He concluded: "The enquiries from individuals and groups have been overwhelming and we wanted to honour both the reservations already in place and our commitment to the staff, therefore we are delighted to open the restaurant again for daily business."
