The Institute's Director of Education & Training, Peter Doyles, commented: "Not only did we see a record number of insurers gaining professional designations, but we also recorded the largest enrolments on our fall courses.

"Over 230 students have registered on courses ranging from the introduction courses to reinsurance and liability courses.

"Not only are Bermudians seeking entrance into the insurance industry, but those already employed are increasing their knowledge and in preparation for upward mobility."

BII president Mark Berry said: "The BII is proud to have helped these students gain their professional designations.

"It is most definitely a record number and shows that insurers realise the importance of gaining the extra knowledge needed for many of the new insurance positions created by the influx of new insurance and reinsurance companies into Bermuda."
