A spicy jam made by a Bermuda company has won a coveted international food award.The 2007 Scovie Awards, designed to recognise top fiery food products from around the globe, handed the Bermuda Jam Factory second place in the jams and jellies category for its Storm Surge Gombey Hot Pepper Jam product.

A panel of top culinary experts sampled hundreds of the world's most lauded gourmet foods during the competition in New Mexico.
The awards are named for Wilbur Scoville who pioneered a rating scale for spicy foods.
