Shareholders of Weatherford International Inc. have overwhelmingly voted in favour of the company's reincorporation in Bermuda.

Out a total of 118,977,101 outstanding shares, 97,879,628 shares were used to vote, and of that number, 91,133, 457 or 93 percent voted in favour of the move.

This was a majority of 77 percent of the total number of shares outstanding, well above the simple majority of more than 50 percent that was required for the move.

Weatherford is one of the largest global providers of innovative mechanical solutions, technology and services for the drilling, completion and production sectors of the oil and gas industry. The company operates in more than 100 countries and employs approximately 15,000 people.
