Office innovators: AF Smith and Creative Office Concepts executives announce their new office furniture distribution deal with Inscape Solutions in Canada. Inspiration Office Ltd. and Creative Office Concepts Ltd. have teamed up to provide the Island with innovative and sleek furniture and fittings for offices.

The companies are the first to have a distribution deal with award-winning Inscape Solutions, based in Toronto.

Inscape helps customers keep things simple by providing precision-engineered products that emphasise compatibility, adaptability and integration.

The company believes it is important to balance the visual and functional demands of a workplace while minimising ongoing investment even as business needs change.

Inspiration Office, a subsidary of AF Smith will represent Inscape's complete line of products, including filing and storage, systems furniture, casegoods and architectural products and Creative Office Concepts will specialise in installing the furniture and reconfiguration services.

Deverux Flood, owner of Creative Office Concepts, said: "It is a good partnership between my company and AF Smith's. We have never worked together before but I am happy with they way everything has happened. We will be able to offer our customers the complete array of services.

"It is funny because we did not realise at the time but we were both looking at Inscape as a good fit for Bermuda. We visited their office in Toronto a week after AF Smith did. Inscape then came up with the deal that involved both of us.

"With all the new buildings going up across the city it is important to offer interior designers with options and we felt the furniture and products provided by Inscape were very good."

And Tim Smith, CEO of AF Smith, said: "We had a private survey done last year, where interior designers did not know who had commissioned it, to find out what our customers thought of what we provided them. They complimented us on our expertise and capabilities, but wanted to see us broaden our product portfolio.

"We were compared to a Volvo, well maintained, but you always knew what to expect. We realised that we needed to provide an array of sophisticated and innovative products so we went looking and found Inscape."

Ralf Miethner, senior vice-president of Inscape Solutions, said: "I think our line of products will are suited to Bermuda because we provide the functionality of the US (furniture and office solutions) companies with the design sensibilities of European companies. Bermuda is a well-respected international business centre and our company is well known in North America.

Many of Bermuda's interior designers are from North America, so I think it will be helpful that many of them will have already worked with our products before coming to the Island."

A showroom will open up in the city centre in June for people interested in viewing Inscape products, but to look at their line now go to www.inscapesolutions. com
