BIBA urges primary school kids to study hard

The importance of getting a proper education was highlighted to students by the Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA) at West End Primary Primary School this week.

BIBA continued its local awareness initiative with a presentation on international business at the school on Wednesday.

The main message to pupils was about the importance of staying on in school — regardless of their chosen career path.

It also raised awareness of the important role that international business plays on the Island and in the local community, while outlining the types of opportunities that exist for Bermudians within the sector.

Carmen Adebiyi, events coordinator for BIBA, described the presentation as two-fold. She said: "This presentation further serves as a vehicle for delivering BIBA's key message to young Bermudians — that staying in school and receiving education and qualification in any sector is key for a successful life and a successful Bermuda.

"It will also illustrate the impact that international business has on all career sectors here on the island — from construction, to leisure, to transportation, to the financial sector."

This presentation is a part of BIBA's initiative to create awareness of the impact that international business has on all Bermudians inside or outside of traditionally-accepted international business careers.
