Butterworth awarded Construction Association of Bermuda scholarship
Bermudian William Butterworth's career looks to be set on firm foundations after he was presented with the Construction Association of Bermuda's 2007 Scholarship Award.
The Award, which is awarded to young Bermudians pursuing an education within the construction industry, is granted annually and is valued at $15,000. It is jointly funded by the National Training Board and the Construction Association of Bermuda.
Mr. Butterworth is attending his second year of a three-year diploma in Construction Engineering Technology Management at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.
He is currently on the Honour Roll at Fanshawe with a 4.06 GPA.
The award was given to Malachi Astwood in 2005, who is now be entering his final year of a BSc in Construction Management at the University of Maryland East Shore. This year Mr. Astwood was inducted into the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society for outstanding academic achievement, and elected president of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore National Association of Home Builders student chapter.
Winner of last year's award, Van Dyke Bean will complete his two-year diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology this year at Nova Scotia Community College in Halifax. He will continuing his studies in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
