Capital G customers to pay nothing when they use ATMs - even overseas

Capital G Bank's debit card users will not incur any charge when they withdraw money thanks to the launch of the company's 'No ATM Fees' programme.

The bank launched its new programme, which will mean the account holder's debit card and related account will not be charged any fee for withdrawals, deposits or transfers, on Wednesday.

It also means that Capital G customers can use any local or overseas bank ATM for free, with any fees charged at an ATM operated by another bank being credited to the customer's account the second working day of the following month.

John Kephart, president & CEO of Capital G Bank, said: "The No ATM Fee initiative will be beneficial to customers who like and need to withdraw cash, but don't want the extra fees. This programme also allows our customers to access an expanded ATM network. They can swipe their debit cards at any ATM and Capital G will not charge a fee on their account."

Customers should note that Foreign Currency Purchase Tax (FCPT) applies when using the Capital G debit card internationally, including foreign Internet-based companies. The FCPT is not included as part of the "No Withdrawal Fee" programme and related credits to customer accounts.

In February, Capital G also launched its first ATM location outside of Hamilton at the Raynor's Shell Service Station in Southampton. This ATM will also offer Capital G Bank customers fee-free deposits and withdrawals.

Beginning this month, all existing Capital G debit card holders will receive new translucent purple or ruby pink debit cards as their current cards expire throughout the year.

All cardholders of the Capital G Visa Classic credit card will receive new translucent green or orange credit cards as their current cards expire.

New customers interested in Capital G debit or credit cards will have a choice of a translucent purple or ruby pink debit card and a translucent green or orange credit card.
