Conference to focus on insurance-linked securities
Finance IQ is planning to hold a conference in Bermuda in July to spell out the advantages of insurance-linked securities to investors.
The fourth Insurance Linked Securities Summit will be staged from July 16-18 at the Fairmont Southampton.
It will focus on the latest deals and product structures, investment and hedging strategies, and tools for investing in life insurance securitisations, catastrophe and other property and casualty securitisations, as well as the growing life settlement sector.
The capital markets have played an increasing role in the insurance industry in recent years with products such as catastrophe bonds gaining in popularity.
Non-correlation with the stock market is one of the major advantages of insurance-linked investment products, particularly with the credit crisis turmoil wreaking havoc on global markets.
Some of the key speakers include: John Brynjolfsson, managing director at PIMCO, Albert Pinzon, partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, Marcos Flores, managing director at Credit Suisse, Antony R. Mott, managing director of Structured Insurance Products at ICAP Capital Markets LLC, and Stefano Sola, managing director of Insurance Linked Capital Markets, Swiss Re Capital Markets.
