Digicel has added a new cell site in the Eve's Hill Area that it hopes will improve the quality of its network in the Pembroke area.

"Residents in the surrounding areas including the Spanish Point Area, Admiralty House Mills Creek, Fairy Lands, Pitts Bay Road North and parts of the North Shore Pembroke West area can now expect to receive better quality calls and better coverage on their mobile phones," read a statement released by the cell phone service provider yesterday.

Michael Swan, director of network operations for Digicel, explains that this site addition is a part of Digicel's ongoing network improvement strategy.

"We recognise that with an ever-growing number of subscribers, upgrades are necessary to continue the robust network service that we provide.

"Digicel has considerably increased its subscriber base over the last two years, and a significant investment has been made to ensure that we continually improve our service levels."
