New CFO at Collins

Finance and insurance services company Collins, which has an office in Bermuda, has appointed John Treacy as its new chief financial officer.

He takes over from Vibhu Sharma who has been made chief operating officer.

The two appointments were announced by the Minneapolis-headquartered company's CEO and president Patrick Denzer.

Both Mr. Treacy and Mr. Sharma are executive vice presidents.

Mr. Treacy has a 22-year insurance and accounting career in which he has held senior finance positions with Zurich Financial Services and The Travelers Companies.

"John Treacy brings to Collins a remarkable track record in guiding the financial operations and strategies of major US financial services companies," said Mr. Denzer said. "He is widely known and respected in the global insurance and reinsurance marketplace.

"At the same time, we're fortunate that Vibhu Sharma can step into his new role with energy, knowledge and a clear direction. His knowledge of our people, clients and business, along with his experience and dedication to operational excellence make him the perfect fit for this important position."

Mr. Treacy most recently was senior vice president and corporate controller at Zurich North America, the US insurance operation of Zurich Financial Services.

Mr. Sharma has been with Collins since 2004, following a 17-year career with KPMG where he was a partner and director of KPMG's Midwest Insurance Practice.

Privately-held Collins provides reinsurance brokerage services, risk transfer advice and analytical services to insurers, reinsurers, managing general agents and others in the insurance marketplace.
