BCB advances 20%

Bermuda Commercial Bank was the big mover on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The bank saw its share value soar $2 (20 percent) to close on $12, with 5,800 shares traded.

The banking sector was particularly active, with Butterfield Bank also seeing its share price drop five cents (0.29 percent) to $17.30, as 19,944 shares changed hands, while Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. - warrants transacted 8,300 shares.

Insurance was another busy place to be, with BF&M Ltd.'s shares rising 85 cents (3.95 percent) to $22.35, with 5,541 shares traded, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. dealt with 1,100 shares.

KeyTech Ltd., meanwhile, experienced a share value increase of $1.80 (11.84 percent) to $13.40, as 100 shares changed hands.

As a whole, the Index fell 23.863 points (0.47 percent) to 5,109.63, with 40,785 shares worth $578,485.65 traded.
