BF&M on the up

BF&M Ltd. proved to be the big winners on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The insurance company saw its share price rise 85 cents (four percent) to close at $22.35, with 5,541 shares traded.

But it was not so good for KeyTech Ltd., Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. and Butterfield Bank, who saw their share values decline by $1.80, $1 and five cents respectively.

KeyTech traded 100 shares, while Bermuda Commercial Bank transacted 500, and Butterfield Bank saw 14,045 shares change hands.

Other traders included Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. - warrants with 700 shares.

Overall, the Index was down 46.92 points (0.91 percent) at 5,086.58, as 20,886 shares worth $373,855 changed hands throughout the day.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 0.045 percent at 1,065.03.
