AMSTERDAM (Bloomberg) - Scottish & Newcastle plc. investors approved the takeover of the largest UK brewer by Carlsberg A/S and Heineken NV at an extraordinary general meeting.

The meeting took place yesterday in Edinburgh, where Scottish & Newcastle is based.

The brewer accepted a £7.8 billion ($15.5 billion) bid from Carlsberg and Heineken on January 25 after three months of wrangling.
