Belco says all back on by midnight
the clock to get electricity back on line in the wake of Hurricane Felix.
The storm cut power to about 18,000 homes when it hit Bermuda overnight on Monday with winds gusting up to 80 knots.
Yesterday, Bermuda Electric Light Company spokeswoman Ms Linda Smith said it was hoped to have all power restored by midnight tonight.
She said by late yesterday afternoon power had been restored to another 1,800 customers, but people were getting frustrated when they saw neighbours with power although their electricity was still off-line.
"The highest concentration of isolated incidents like this is in the Paget and Warwick areas. However, isolated outages are scattered throughout the Island.
"Our priority is still to work on jobs which will result in the largest number of customers coming back on line when the job is complete.
"We are asking customers who do not have power restored by Friday morning to call us as we will have worked in all general areas and will need to know specific customers who were not restored when the service line closest to them was repaired.''
