Bookshop seeks Govt. contract

Government's schoolbooks contract. Bookshop managing employee Sheridan Scotton said, "Government's policy is to go directly overseas for their books. We do supply supplementary books, but for textbooks they look elsewhere.'' The store had "a correspondence'' with Government in the past, Ms Scotton said, but she said, "I haven't approached the new Government about it yet.'' Landing the textbook contract would be a major coup for the Children's Bookshop, which has been considering a name change to better advertise its diverse inventory. The store already keeps a large stock of its own educational books and teachers' resources.
