Boost in number of engineers
demand for certified information technology engineers has recently boosted the Island's quotient of Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE's).
Bermuda Microsystems Ltd. (BMS) yesterday announced it had taken aboard another MCSE, and has a newly-qualified Microsoft-certified trainer for its education and training centre.
BMS training centre manager Hoda Hassan said the traditionally high-end skills were now "very much in demand'', with Microsoft systems taking an unsurprising lead in the field. In the last month BMS senior network engineer and MCSE York Chan qualified to teach Microsoft's official curricula for the Windows NT 4.0 server, Workstation and Networking Essentials.
In addition, senior network engineer Rick Harkness has joined the company's professional services group as an MCSE, bringing its total of systems engineers to five. Mr. Harkness is also trained as a Certified Novell Engineer.
