only $748,390.50 worth of shares traded hands. The drop in points was partly attributable to a fall in the price of Bank of Bermuda and Bank of Butterfield, which dropped 75 cents to $28.50 and 25 cents to $16.00 respectively.
The largest turnover in shares was in Bermuda Press (Holdings) which traded 14,900 shares worth $119,200 at no change of $8.00.
Devonshire Industries fell 50 cents to its 52 week low of $7.50, BF&M lost 25 cents to close at $7.25, KeyTech fell 20 cents to finish at $29.80 and BELCO Holdings rose 50 cents to $19.00. The index fell 1.64 percent to 1,431.50 on a volume of 44,803 shares traded hands.
