BTC report handed to parties
trouble-hit Bermuda Telephone Company has finally been completed.
Last night Home Affairs Minister Maxwell Burgess confirmed he had received a copy of the report, compiled by an independent Board of Inquiry.
The inquiry team was set up by former Home Affairs Minister Quinton Edness following a walkout by staff at the company in March.
The strike, which was supported by more than 200 workers and lasted four days, was later declared illegal by the board, which heavily criticised union leaders for not following dispute regulations.
Last night Mr. Burgess said: "I can confirm that I have now received a copy of the report of the board of inquiry looking into the management practices of the Bermuda Telephone Company.
"Copies of this report have been forwarded to the company, the Bermuda Industrial Union and the Bermuda Public Service Association for their information.
"In due course, once they have had time to digest its contents, I intend to make the recommendations of the board public.''
