Butterfield fall affects BSX Index
The Bermuda Stock Exchange Index finished the week down 13.84 points as the Bank of Butterfield's share price forced the index back.
The Index closed at 1,325.41 on volume of 98,351 shares valued at $1.78 million and bonds worth $47,475.
Twelve issues traded, five advancing, two declining and five unchanged in value.
Bank of Butterfield closed the week down 88 cents or 6.42 percent to $13.63.
Bermuda Telephone also fell 75 cents to close at $32.25.
Bermuda Press (Holdings), which owns The Royal Gazette , gained $1.25 to close at $10, surpassing its 52-week high of $9. Other gainers were: Bank fo Bermuda, up 25 cents to $28.50, Bermuda Home and Bermuda Home preference shares, up 25 cents to $8.88 and $11.50 respectively and Kentucky Fried Chicken, up 13 cents to $4.50.
