upgrading over the next two months.

The move is part of Shell Company of Bermuda's long-term plan to upgrade its facilities around the Island.

The company plans to install new tank pumps, underground piping and environmental monitoring equipment, extend credit card readers to all pumps and add diesel fuel options on three pumps.

And the new environmental equipment will provide state of the art protection, said a Shell spokesperson.

"In the unlikely event that a leak does occur there will be 100 percent containment.

"The new environment monitoring equipment will notify the service station and Shell within minutes of detection of a leak, thus allowing swift action to be taken by the company.''
