East coast storm has little impact on Bermuda travel
John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport was only slightly delayed, despite severe winter conditions on the east coast of the US.
And no further delays are expected for the coming few days.
A JetBlue plane arriving from California skidded off a runway early yesterday morning, closing JFK for a short time, but no one was hurt in the accident and operations were back to normal shortly after.
The second major snowfall of the winter dumped up to eight inches of snow in the New York area, causing significant delays and cancellations at JFK, Newark and LaGuardia airports.
Passengers are being advised to call the airlines before heading to catch a flight as workers struggled to clear runways of snow and ice.
An official said that no Bermuda flights had been cancelled and they were now basically playing "catch-up''.
