Falling bank stocks hurt Index

The index finished the week at 1,391.88 on volume of 187,312 shares valued at about $1.85 million, and bonds worth $5,289.

Twelve stocks traded and one bond traded, four advancing, four declining and five unchanged in value.

Bermuda Commercial Bank had the biggest drop, falling 38 cents, or about seven percent in value, to $5.13.

Bank of Bermuda fell 25 cents during the week to finish at $28.38. Bank of Butterfield fell 50 cents to close at $15.75.

Bermuda Home had the biggest gain, rising 50 cents, or about five percent in value, to close at $9.25.

Belco Holdings gained 50 cents to close at $24.50. Bermuda Telephone gained 25 cents to close at $34.
