Firm to hold seminar on document imaging
Services, is holding a free educational seminar on Document Automation for Business from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. tomorrow at the Princess Hotel.
Guest speakers for the event will be Mr. Gene Fedors and Mr. Howard Gordon, principals of US firm Trilogy Associates, Inc.
The seminar is the second session in a two-part series and addresses "Business Process Redesign -- Improving Quality and Productivity in the Office''.
A spokeserson for Trilogy said: "Document imaging is a powerful solution for paper intensive industries such as insurance, banking and government that need relief from the growing volume of business paper.
"From a layman's point of view, imaging simply involves using the electronic representation of a document on a computer screen rather than the paper document itself.
"Aside from the obvious benefit of eliminating tedious paper shuffling, imaging saves space and processing time.
"After two decades of applying information systems to improve the way the office works, we cannot stress enough the importance of evaluation of an organisation's structure, its people, systems and current business process, before introducing document imaging technology.
"Imaging involves a fundamental change in the way business operates and people work.
"Tapping the full potential of imaging requires a thorough rethinking of business rules traditionally based on the movement of paper.
"When documents move electronically, many restrictions imposed by physical paper are removed.''
