has added three new team members to its fold. Canadian Mike Bennett joins the company with expertise in IT, software development, disaster recovery, data warehousing, e-trading solutions, deployment of business intelligence tools and business re-engineering.

He is joined by Ben Draper , a certified Lotus professional, who will work with Lotus Notes team leader Victor Rubba to implement web and Internet solutions for Bermuda's companies.

Mr. Draper's main focus will be Lotus Domino Notes 4.5, Lotusscript 3.1, SQL Server, Visual Basic, MS Access and other MS DOS and Windows applications.

"The company is fast becoming the number one choice for international and local businesses here in Bermuda and we are committed to providing the best possible customer service,'' ICS CEO Robert Salmon said.

CHAVES IN CONTROL APP Chaves in control BF&M Insurance Group has appointed Bermudian chartered accountant Vincent Chaves to controller. Mr. Chaves earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University and worked with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) before joining BF&M in November, 1997.

BANK PROMOTES SCOTT APP Bank promotes Scott The Bank of Bermuda has appointed William H. Scott to senior vice president, corporate planning. He also joins the Bank's executive committee. In his new role he will direct the Bank's global strategic planning process and related performance reporting functions. He joined the Bank's finance & planning section in 1991 and was most recently vice president-corporate controller.

KUDOS FOR VANDERPOOL CON BUC Kudos for Vanderpool BGA Group of Companies employee Barbara Vanderpool has been named "best buyer'' ahead of all other distributors in the Caribbean/Bermuda region at a recent Johnson & Johnson conference in Trinidad.

"We at BGA are well aware of the quality of Barbara's work. Her attention to detail is commendable,'' BGA CEO John Tomlinson said. Ms Vanderpool has been with BGA for 18 years and is head of purchasing.

GARLAND JOINS E&Y APP Garland joins E&Y Bermudian Chris Garland has joined management consulting group Ernst & Young .

He will be responsible for business development and client relationship management. He majored in marketing and management at Columbus State University.

MANUEL IN HOT SEAT APP Manuel in hot seat The Board of Directors of fast food franchise KFC Bermuda Ltd. has named Kevin Manuel general manager. The Saltus graduate recently completed the KFC Global Procedures Training Programme and has attained the All-Star Certificate and can now act as a trainer for KFC's Star 2000 programme which all employees worldwide will be required to be certified in by the end of 2000.

"My main focus will be to bring the service level up so that it not only meets but exceeds customer expectations,'' Mr. Manuel said.

KFC customers may have recently noticed a new front counter, point of sale system and in-store flow patterns. Coming soon will be cleaner dining areas and new products.

Also announced was the appointment of Bermudian Tracy Robinson as KFC's assistant manager. She previously worked at Total Office Management.
