Lang moves up at ACE Europe
ACE Europe was acquired when ACE bought US insurer CIGNA's domestic and international property and catastrophe operations in a $3.45 billion cash deal finalised on July 2.
Mr. Lange joined ACE Limited as a senior vice president five years ago and was responsible for developing ACE's international representative office in London.
He was also involved in the formation and administration of the ACE European Markets' insurance and Reinsurance Companies based in Ireland.
AS COO he will report to ACE Europe president and CEO Steve Schleisman who said of the appointment: "Michael brings a combination of great qualities to this new ACE operation.
"He has extensive international experience in underwriting, business development and administration.
"His commitment to the ACE business philosophy and his appetite for new opportunities generates an energy that will allow us to share our enthusiasm of the ACE potential with our business colleagues and customers.'' Former vice president of ACE's international representative office, Stephen French, has been promoted to senior vice president in the reshuffle.
The office will continue to operate out of London as an international contact point for ACE Bermuda's brokers and clients.
Mr. French will report to ACE Bermuda president and CEO Gary Schmalzriedt.
ACE Europe is responsible for ACE's operations in the European Union, the Middle East and Africa.
