During 1990 and early 1991, the firm developed its corporate presence in the British Virgin Islands and Mr. Becker assisted in setting up systems and procedures.

Codan Management (BVI) Ltd. and Codan Trust Company (BVI) Ltd. offer corporate and administrative services to international firms. The BVI proved to be an exciting, emerging offshore opportunity and highly complementary to the firm's Bermuda operations.

The appointment was made six weeks ago and announced by the firm through a press release on Wednesday. It takes effect on June 20.

After obtaining his National Diploma in Business Studies from Soundwell College in Bristol, Mr. Becker qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1985.

He then acted as financial controller to a number of companies in Great Britain. Initially recruited to Bermuda by American International, where he worked as a manager for major US captive companies, he joined Conyers, Dill and Pearman in 1990 to manage itssupport services.

His wife and twin daughters are "very excited'' about the move. Mr. Becker is an avid soccer player. He played full back for Forties, Lobster Pot and Robin Hood.
