Bermuda-based excess liability insurer has appointed William Loschert to a new non-executive chairmanship, it was announced yesterday.

Mr. Loschert will coordinate the underwriting activities of ACE's subsidiaries at Lloyd's.

ACE owns a majority interest in Methuen Group and provides corporate capital to Lloyd's syndicates managed by Methuen's managing agency. These syndicates have underwriting capacity of $573 million in 1996.

Since 1986, Mr. Loschert has been ACE's executive vice president, underwriting. He will remain an ACE executive vice president.

ACE executive vice president, financial lines, Dominic Frederico has been named to succeed Mr. Loschert as executive vice president, underwriting.
