New associates in the spotlight

their Bermuda insurance industry counterparts, during a Bermuda Insurance Institute luncheon at the Princess Hotel.

They included Katherine Freemantle of Marsh & McLennan, Donald Baker of SCUUL and Timothy Proctor of J&H.

Meanwhile, former policeman Alex Arnfield of Powerscourt and current policeman Paul Wright have become certified members of the Bermuda Insurance Institute (CBII).

Bermuda Insurance Diploma (BID) graduates included Patricia Bean of the Bank of Butterfield, Gillian DeSilva of Starr Excess, Karen DeCosta and Jacqueline Fitton of A.J. Gallagher, Vanessa Persad of ACE Insurance and Christopher Powell of LaSalle Re.

Subject prizes, awarded to students with the highest marks in BID subjects, included the Bluefield Insurance award won by Patricia Bean for Insurance Practice, the Bermuda Underwriters Association award won by Lyndsay Peacock for Legal Aspects and the Heddington Insurance award won by Jacqueline Fitton for the Bermuda Insurance Market.

The Highland Fidelity Scholarship went to Patricia Bean. The Shelton Burgess Scholarship went to Christopher Powell and the Verbena Daniels Scholarship went to Paul Wollmann.
