OIL chief announces his retirement next month
he is to retire next month.
Mr. King has held the position since 1996. He took up position of director and executive committee member after being appointed senior vice president of OCIL from 1991 to 1995.
The announcement was made this week by OIL Management Services Ltd in a press release.
It stated: "After more than a decade of successful service in Bermuda, Jon King has announced his retirement effective with the close of the annual shareholders meetings in March.'' The release said that the executive committees and board of directors of the companies would immediately begin a search for a replacement president and CEO.
In the mean time Jack Wesley will become acting president and CEO of OIL and OCIL. Mr. Wesley is the senior vice president of OCIL.
Mr. King will continue to consult and advise the companies during the transition period.

The Bermuda IT company said this will enable it to offer world-class infrastructure consulting to international and local business.
Cisco Systems is said to be the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet and provides end-to-end networking solutions that customers can use to build a unified information infrastructure of their own, the company said.
ICS will now have access to engineering, training and sales personnel with Cisco when looking for infrastructure solutions for their clients, the company said.
