performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new KPMG offices at Crown House on Par-la-Ville Road. The building was erected last year by Bermuda Press Holdings, the owner of the Royal Gazette , after borrowing $10.5 million. The building is on the site of the former Royal Gazette car park and will now be the headquarters for KPMG and also house Pronto Print. The building's architects were Barker & Linberg. Mr. Scott, who was standing in for Jennifer Smith who is in London on official business, said he was pleased to express the Government's appreciation of KPMG's commitment to Bermuda. "As a Government we recognise that your work contributes directly to the economic development of the Island by improving the management practices of business and your efforts to audit business, particularly insurance companies, help ensure our financial stability,'' he said. KPMG has now moved from the Vallis Building where it had been for 40 years.
