Belco crews were working through the night to repair the underground cable, which hit homes between Devils' Hole and the Post Office early on Sunday morning.

A Belco spokesman said they had provided the Summerhaven home for the disabled and a retirement home in the area with generators to ensure their power supply was not interrupted.

Last night the homes still cut off were on Club Road, Somersall Road, Broken Hill, Arrowroot Lane and Whitecrust Lane.
