ProServe to offer services
banks, is to offer its document processing services to other companies.
The company was established as a costs savings measure by the Bank of Bermuda Ltd. and the Bank of N.T. Butterfield and Son Ltd. to perform non-strategic functions, which includes document processing such as cheque clearing.
Currently ProServe's $1.2 million worth of document processing and imaging equipment handles between 31,000 to 54,000 cheques a day generated by the banks' customers. ProServe general manager Horst Finkbeiner II said the company had developed new services which it could offer to other companies.
One of these services would be automated mailing where ProServe could use its high-tech printing, handling and insertion for company statements, invoices and direct marketing or mail shots.
Mr. Finkbeiner said: "We have developed new services that we can now offer to other companies. In particular our printing services are now in full production and can provide significant benefits.'' The facility is located on the second floor of the Bank of Butterfield's Rosebank offices.
