Redmond launches laser printer firm
Computer Services Ltd., selling and servicing laser printers and supplying recycled laser cartridges.
Mr. Redmond, 23, recently graduated from Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a degree in commerce/business administration.
Redlaser Computer Services sells and services Hewlett Packard laser printers and Mr. Redmond is also trained to service other laser printers with Canon engines.
The company is also affiliated with LaserWorks, a fast-growing Canadian firm which recycles laser printer cartridges.
Mr. Redmond said a recycled cartridge, including new wiper blades and a photosensitive drum, was better and cheaper than a new one.
"The first time somebody uses a recycled cartridge it costs $130 which includes the replacement of the photo sensitive drum,'' he said.
"After that, each recycled cartridge costs just $80, compared with $135 which you would have to pay for a new one.
"Recycling is not only good for the environment but the quality of the printer is as good, if not better, using a recycled cartridge.'' All cartridges are sent to LaserWorks in Canada for recycling. Recycled cartridges come with a year's warranty.
Redlaser Computer Services is based at 48, Par-La-Ville Road.
