Symposium schedule announced

range of discussions on the Island's insurance business from catastrophe reinsurance to the future of captive insurance.

The symposium, slated for May 30 to June 2, at Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort, includes eight panel discussions.

Registrar of Companies Mr. Malcolm Butterfield will be on an insurance trends panel which will also include US and English regulators, a rating agency executive and a lawyer. The panel will assess insurance and reinsurance regulations now and in the future.

Other speakers from Bermuda and abroad will speak on various topics including the impact of global warming, financial reinsurance, health reform and insurance, the derivative risk, and risk management innovations.

Finance Minister, the Hon. David Saul will discuss why Bermuda is one market for the world and symposium chairman, Mr. Robin Spencer-Arscott, chairman of Aon Risk, Services (Bermuda) Ltd., will deliver a welcome on Wednesday, May 31.

The symposium starts on Tuesday, May 30, with a golf tournament to benefit the Angus Robinson Jr. Memorial Foundation.

The final day, Friday, June 2, includes the topics; London market, friend or foe?, and the excess liability and D&O. The event also features 27 trade show exhibitors and has 38 sponsors.

Registration is Tuesday, May 30 from 2-6.30 p.m. and Wednesday on May 31 from 8-9 a.m.
