Bank of Butterfield gained 25 cents closing at $9.50 and Bermuda Home was up 12.5 cents at $8.Staples preferred fell 50 cents closing at $8.25 and Belco was down 25 cents at $19.25.

Issues unchanged were Bank of Bermuda, Bermuda Commercial Bank, Bermuda Home preferred, SAL and Telco while Corporation of Hamilton eight percent Bermuda bonds were unchanged at $101 on volume of five units worth $5,050.
Total value of trading was $526,202.75.
The index closed up 4.38 points at 946.98.
