Airport.

The 40-year-old man is believed to have suffered an anxiety attack and lost control, ending up assaulting a Police officer who was trying to calm him down.

The incident happened at 12.50 p.m. on Saturday as the man was about to return home after a mid-week break on the Island.

A Police spokesman said the man was at the Airport when he became violent and acted in a threatening manner after failing to take his medication for an illness. "The man lost all control of his physical and mental state, and began attacking the people who were trying to assist him,'' said the Police spokesman.

The man was eventually restrained with the help of an off-duty Policeman, and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

"The man will be remaining on the Island for evaluation before being permitted to return home to the US.'' CRIME CRM
