YE trade fair next week

Students will set up displays at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 30 in the Harbour Room above No. 1 shed in Hamilton.

The displays will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with judging slated for 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

An awards ceremony will be held at 5 p.m.

The fair continues Friday, December 1 with displays open to the public from 10 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

YE also include volunteers from the business community.

Judges will review display setup, originality and quality of products and sales techniques displayed by the companies while prizes will be awarded for display, product originality and to the overall winner.

Companies are permitted to use video displays, company records and props to enhance the display of merchandise at the fair.

Bermuda's YE participants held their first trade fair last year.

In Bermuda, YE is a project supported by the Institute of Directors (IOD), bringing young people and the business community together.

The YE area board is a subcommittee of the IOD.

The Bermuda project began in 1993 at Bermuda High School, Saltus, Mount St.

Agnes and the Bermuda Institute, then expanded to include all Government schools.

YE was started 25 years ago in the UK.
