Ms Luck has been involved with Bermuda's insurance industry since 1983. She was Marsh & McLennan Global Broking (Bermuda) Ltd. managing director since 1993 and head of office since 1992.

In addition to her 14 years of management and financial experience, Ms Luck holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from Manchester University, England and the Scottish Chartered Accountant designation.

The appointment is effective January 1.

Her contributions to the insurance industry have "clearly identified her as an individual of considerable knowledge and expertise,'' ACE chairman, president and CEO Brian Duperreault said.

"Ms Luck's association with ACE goes back to our beginnings in 1985.'' ACE executive vice president, underwriting Dominic Frederico said that Ms Luck will "provide the strategic direction that financial lines needs to respond to the complex demands of insurance buyers today.'' ACE established its financial lines business in January 1995.

Ms Luck will take over from Mr. Frederico who now oversees all of ACE's Bermuda-based underwriting.
