Airline puts on extra flights
Halifax -- prime gateway cities to Canada -- beginning in the summer.
The airline's local manager Mr. Ian Davis believes the new services will boost tourism from Canada as well as Europe by offering direct connections to major cities.
The weekly Halifax flight which is usually confined to the spring months will now be expanded through the airline's summer schedule.
At the same time, one additional weekly non-stop flight will be added from Bermuda to Toronto, a popular tourist and business destination for Bermudians.
Both flights are set to begin on June 26, operating every Saturday until September 4.
This will see Air Canada operating a total of nine non-stop flights every week throughout the summer.
Mr. Davis said: "Our new Halifax and Toronto flights will offer direct connections with all major centres throughout Canada, the US and Europe.
"These flights will also help open up Bermuda as a holiday destination for Canadians and Europeans.
"It is good news for Bermuda. It has been through the combined efforts of Air Canada and the Bermuda Department of Tourism that Air Canada has been able to dedicate this additional capacity to Bermuda for 1993.''
