Airport could be launching pad for retailers
as an advertising beacon for their wares.
And the goal is to ensure that newly-arriving visitors can get a quick introduction to items available in the Island's stores.
Chamber of Commerce president David Rowntree said that the idea was just floating about among the membership at the moment but it was something many considered a viable scheme.
"We have talked about being able to showcase our members wares inside the arrivals hall in glass cases,'' he said.
"As we see it many visitors who have to come in have to fill out their forms.
At least they will have something to lean on while they wait to go through to Immigration and while they are doing that they can check out the showcase. It will promote the shopping in Bermuda. This has been mentioned and there are ongoing discussions about it, but right now it is just an idea.''
