American Airlines is proud of its website, www.aa.com. More than 4.8 million AAdvantage members have logged in since a completely redesigned AA.com site was lau nched in the summer of 1998.
The site receives nearly 350,000 visits on peak days and approximately 25 million page views each month.
Among the leading travel sites on the web and one of the Internet's largest e-commerce sites, the American Airlines Web site provides news, information and specials that are personalised to passengers' preferred airports, destinations, and AAdvantage program travel partners.
In addition, AA.com offers customers fast, convenient travel reservations and online management of their AAdvantage Travel Awards Program accounts.
AA.com provides information about fare sales -- including periodic Internet-only fare specials, such as those below - promotions, Aadvantage special offers, American Airlines Vacations tour packages, service and airport information, and links to American Way magazine.

Net SAAver Fares, an industry first, each week offers more than two million e-mail subscribers special low fares for last-minute weekend travel.
For a limited time, American Airlines is doubling its bonus miles for booking on AA.com. Travellers can earn up to 2,000 AAdvantage bonus miles on any American Airlines or American Eagle round-trip ticket booked on AA.com between September 1, 2000 and October 31, 2000. Travel must be complete by December 31, 2000.
The offer applies to members of the AAdvantage programme. Those who are not members can sign up via the Internet in a few minutes and will then qualify for the bonus miles.
The frequent flyer account will be credited with a minimum 1,000 Bonus AAdvantage Miles as each flight segment is flown, with a maximum of 2,000 Bonus miles for each round-trip booked. The offer is subject to change with 30 days advance notice.
Miles will be awarded after travel is completed. Bonus miles do not count toward elite status qualification and do not apply to AAdvantage travel award bookings.
About seats.
Now you can find out exactly which seats are available before you book your flight on AA.com. With AA's new "View Seat Maps'' feature, you can see if your favourite seat is available, whether it's on the aisle or by a window, up front or in the back.

AAdvantage Member Services : A single login lets AAdvantage members access current information about their AAdvantage accounts, plus up to six months of previous account statements.
American ensures the security of online transactions by requiring AAdvantage number and PIN. Members can request a PIN and submit an address change online.
AA.com uses SSL, a standard security protocol that provides encryption to prevent unauthorised access to sensitive information.
AAdvantage Partners : Internet users can find a list of airlines, restaurants, hotels, rental car companies and many others that participate in the AAdvantage programme. Participating companies accept and credit AAdvantage miles for use of their products and services.
AAdvantage Upgrades : Gold and Platinum members can easily request seating upgrades when making reservations. A response is sent via e-mail regarding upgrade availability and confirmation.
College SAAver Fares : Special fares and promotions are offered to college students periodically throughout the year via e-mail notification. Travellers can find out more about College SAAver Fares and subscribe to the service via the Web site.
Guest Booking : Through the guest booking feature, guests can purchase air travel on AA.com without obtaining an AAdvantage number and PIN, which is needed to be a member to receive special benefits. The new feature makes purchasing air travel at AA.com more widely available to Internet users.

Net SAAver Fares : The first e-mail service of its kind, Net SAAvers subscribers receive information via e-mail each week about non-advertised low airfares for weekend travel. Customers can enroll online for this service, which is available free of charge. Net SAAver Fares tickets can be quickly and easily purchased online.
Personalised Content : AA.com ties in with American's 38 million-member AAdvantage database to display special offers and news customised to the customer's interests.
Travel Planning : AA.com features a fast, easy-to-use shopping and reservations process. The Sale AAlert feature informs customers when their preferred markets are "on sale'', and makes it easy to find and purchase special fares. Customers can check flight schedules on most major airlines, obtain fare quotes for American and American Eagle, purchase tickets, check gates and flight times, and view aircraft information and seat maps.
