the Bank of Bermuda skyrocketed by 11.5 percent, ending the day at $36.50.

The Index gained 11.86 percent on a volume of 93,816 shares to close at 1,668.56.

Bank of Bermuda was up $3.75 on a volume of 16,517 shares after the fourth day of a rally for the stock, which was valued at $29 at the beginning of trade on Friday. The stock rose by $3 that day, $1 on Monday and 75 cents on Tuesday -- representing an overall gain of $7.50, or 25.8 percent.

Only two other issues changed hands, with Argus Insurance up $1 to $17 and BF&M preferred shares ending the day up one half to $9.50.
