Bda Press to open new print shop
Print Express, to be located in Columbia House on Burnaby Street, will target the personal as well as commercial market whose needs include smaller quantities, said general manager Mr. Paget Wharton.
"The new location will tap a different market-place. Where we are located now is not conducive to walk-in traffic,'' Mr. Wharton said yesterday.
The store, currently undergoing renovations, is expected to open in August with a grand opening slated for September.
Staffing will come from the company's main location Pitt's Bay Road.
The Pitt's Bay Road operation concentrates on magazines and books while the new division will offer new services, like desktop publishing,'' said Mr.
Matthew Cairney, project co-ordinator for the new store.
"Clients will be able to chose different types of printing,'' he said. The business will offer lithographic services to businesses and individuals utilising a Heidelberg offset printing press, moved from the Pitt's Bay Road location, for business letter head, personal stationery, envelopes, business cards, invitations, carbonless business forms and brochures.
The company will also rent personal computers.
Other equipment in the new store will include an Instant Publisher IPS950, which produces materials while clients wait, a high speed photocopier and a digital duplicator to provide photocopying in colour or black and white.
The business will also provide graphic design, faxing, binding, laminating, cutting, collating, and stapling.
Manager of Print Express will be Mr. Chris Mitchell, currently with The Bermuda Press.
