A team of four from the Bermuda College will fly to Washington D.C. today to help create "inter-generational vision'' for the next century.

According to a College spokesperson, the four -- including Student Government president Kenneth Caesar -- will attend the 1999 Global Meeting of Generations conference, beginning today.

Attending the GMG Conference with Mr. Caesar will be Nathan Samuels, Senator Arts & Science; Kristin White, Senator Hotel and Business; and Donna Belton, counsellor.

The GMG is a series of global, national meetings and special programmes that embrace all generations in pursuit of human development in the 21st century.

It is managed by a partnership of civil society and official organisations representing leadership in all generations. Several United Nations agencies are among the project's sponsors.

The College spokesperson said the GMG intended to engage those who would in the future carry major responsibility for improving the human condition in direct dialogue.

"The results of the programme's worldwide dialogues will be captured in a final document entitled Visions and Actions for Equitable Development in the 21st century,'' she said.

"Among the goals of the GMG are to create a compelling, inter-generational vision of development for the next century and to develop a comprehensive plan of action to realise that vision.'' BERMUDA COLLEGE EDC
