Bermuda Home stock proves biggest gainer
1,293.65, gaining 16.82 points on gains in bank sector stocks. Fourteen issues traded, nine gaining, one declining and four unchanged in value on a volume of 104,653 shares valued at $1,492,739.25, and bonds worth $15,401.93.
The biggest gainer for the week was Bermuda Home preference stock which rose $1.25, or about 11 percent, to $11 3 on a volume of 770. Belco Holdings was the only stock which fell, declining by 1 , or 0.54 percent, to $23 on a volume of 2,926.
Bank of Bermuda finished the week up 50 cents to $26.50 on a volume of 20,541.
Bank of Butterfield rose 1 to $14.25 on a volume of 40,543. Bermuda Commercial Bank rose 25 cents to $5.50 on a volume of 16,300. Bermuda Home common shares rose 50 cents to $8.50 on a volume of 1,012. Bermuda Computer Services rose 75 cents to $11 on a volume of 450. Staples Holdings preference shares rose 5 to $8 5 on a volume of 68. Bermuda Container Line rose $1 to $4 on a volume of 8,900. Bermuda Telephone rose $1 to $32 on a volume of 4,450.
Trading unchanged were Bank of Bermuda warrants at $3.50 on a volume of 5,505, Kentucky Fried Chicken at $4 on a volume of 3,000, Argus Insurance at $16 on a volume of 188, and Bermuda Telephone bonds at $95.25.
