Mr. Booth, a land surveyor of five years who currently works for Jones-Waddington, was the only student to sit his RICS exams at Bermuda College, where he passed four three-hour papers during a week.

The RICS said it did not know how many people were eligible for the Wainwright Prize.

Mr. Michael A. Smith has returned to the Bermuda operation of the Bank of Butterfield after working on secondment for two years at the Bank's Guernsey and Cayman subsidiaries.

Mr. Smith, a Senior Manager, has joined the Bank's Credit Division.

He has been with the Bank for 13 years working in the Treasury Division. Mr.

Smith will be primarily responsible for domestic personal loans.
